FAIR DAYS AHEAD: Issue 1: June 30, 2022
Dear AOSFYC Members & Families,
Once again, congratulations on being chosen to perform with the All-Ohio State Fair Youth Choir. Thank you for joining us to make music, new friends and to be part of a 60-year tradition. The entire staff looks forward to working with you as we prepare for the Ohio State Fair....both in the weeks before you arrive and during our focused days of rehearsal. We know the State Fair will prove to be an exciting and enriching experience.
In the next few weeks Choir members and their parent/guardian will receive several emails from me that have been written in collaboration with Dr. Peterson and our fellow staff members to ensure you are best prepared for your time in Columbus. We know there are many, many questions and we believe that spreading out the details in smaller bites may be helpful to everyone. This information will be posted on the membership portal which may be found at www.aosfyc.org/portal. The password for the portal is: sing2022
Topics will include
Scarlet Singers openings available for Soprano I, Tenor & Bass -- Many thanks to those that submitted audition recordings for membership in the Scarlet Singers. Dr. Peterson would like to add additional voices to this select group of singers. This small ensemble has the opportunity for additional performances during the Fair for special events such as performing at the induction ceremonies for the Ohio State Fair Hall of Fame and the Ohio Agricultural Hall of Fame. One highlight will be for this group to perform an a cappella set on stage at The Celeste Center prior to the Foreigner concert on July 29. Audition information may be found on the membership portal -- please complete the video audition ASAP if you are interested and are a Soprano I, Tenor or Bass.
Please let me know of any questions along the way and keep this outline of info in mind to know that some details will be forthcoming.
